We live on the Island of Hawaii, an island half again larger than Connecticutt and
Rhode Island combined. We live on the top of an active shield volcano. |
We live on the southern coast of the Big Island in the District of Ka'u in Ocean
View, the largest subdivision in the United States of America & Polynesia (USAP).
OV consists of 11,000 one-acre plots. |

Band & Bakery, Inc. is our corporate identity. Jill is the Bakery, & Roger
is the Band. Jill designs all the food products and Roger designs all the labels.
We can go from product idea to ready-to-sell & distribute within a day.
One time, we came up with four new products in a day and sent samples to
a food store chain the next day. They seemed to like three out of four
of them. |
Jill started Jill's Country Kitchen in 1984 and her first product was her Breakfast
Cookie. For 20 years she baked fine-dining desserts for Kona Village Resort,
Kilauea Lodge, and more than a dozen Big Island restaurants. Recently, the
cake business was retired because we wanted to move onto other things. It was
ironic because High Noon Productions just filmed a sequence here in Ocean View
of Jill decorating her Tropical-themed cakes for an episode of "Sweet Rush" to
be aired on the Food Channel. We will continue on with Hula Girl Hot Sauces,
South Point Salsas, Sauces & Dressings, Hula Girl Shortbread Cookies, Zato's
Coconut-Chocolate Sushi Candy, and Hula Hotties Cookies & Candy Bars. |
